How to make GREEN TEA

Green tea is a wonderful beverage with potential health benefits. But if you're not familiar with a few basic techniques, you can wind up with a tea that's grassy, bitter, or just too strong. Don't worry, though -- with enough patience, it's easy to make a perfect cup of green tea.

Ingredients

Green teabag tea:
  • Green teabags, leaves or pearls (about 1 tsp. per cup of water)
  • Hot water
  • basil leaves ( 4-5 leaves)
  • Honey
  • Lemon juice
Green tea powder tea:
  • 1/2 tablespoon green tea powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 piece lemon
Green ginger tea:
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) of green tea leaves (or pearls) per 1 cup of water
  • Ginger or dry ginger powder (sunth) (or pearls)
  • Water

Method 1 of 3: Green teabag tea

    Determine how many cups of green tea you would want to make. The general guideline is one teaspoon (5 g) of green tea leaves (or pearls) per one cup of water. This will yield one cup of brewed tea.

    Measure out the desired amount of green tea leaves (or pearls) and place them in your tea strainer or sieve.

    Fill a non-reactive pot or pan (glass or stainless steel) with water and heat it to about 180 °F (80 °C). You can use a candy thermometer to watch the temperature, but if you don't have one, then keep an eye on the water so that it doesn't boil.

    Place the filled tea strainer or sieve into an empty mug or cup.

    Pour the heated water into the mug, over the tea leaves.

    Steep the tea leaves for 2 - 3 minutes but not any longer, or else your tea will become slightly bitter.

    Remove the tea strainer from the mug.

    Let your tea cool down for a few moments and enjoy your perfect cup of green tea.

Method 2 of 3: Green tea powder tea

    Add the green tea powder to the water. If making more than one green tea, double, triple, etc. the quantities of powder and water.

    Boil the water in a saucepan. Boil until the green tea powder falls to the bottom.

    Strain the green tea water into the cup or mug.

    Add the honey and lemon piece.
